S. D. Ahuja foundation has created a fund which will organise an annual for final year art students, the details and guidelines of which are given below.


  • The annual exhibition for students will display about 50 artworks by final year art students.

  • An ID card may be provided as proof of being a student.

  • Only paintings can be submitted.

  • There is no restriction on size or medium.

  • The exhibition will run for 2 months.

  • The exhibition will start on 1 July 2012 and end on 31 August 2012.

  • Catalogues will be printed by S D Ahuja Foundation, containing all artworks, details/ biography and contact details of the artists, details of the art work. This catalogue will be mailed to over 10,000 people around the world including museums, top galleries and collectors.

  • Over 25,000 people in Calcutta will be invited to the exhibition.

  • S D Ahuja Foundation will buy the paintings it has selected and a red dot will be displayed beside the painting.

  • Paintings not bought by S D Ahuja Foundation, can be sold by the artists to interested people visiting the museum.

  • Artists should send a CD with the work/s they wish to enter addressed to, “Mrs. Suchita Roy Chowdhury, S D Ahuja Foundation, 29 Broad Street, Kolkata 700 019”. Please note that CDs will not be returned. Artists can submit upto 4 paintings for selection. Only selected artists will be contacted.

  • Selected Artists have to then show the original paintings, and a further selection will be done.

  • The last date for sending CDs is 31 May 2012.

  • The last date for submitting original paintings is 15 June 2012.

  • Each selected artist will receive 5 catalogues and 20 invites.

  • Details of all selected works and selected artists will also be on the Ahuja Museum for Arts website.

  • All paintings not bought by S D Ahuja Foundation, will be returned to the artists by 15 September 2012.
