Tran Xuan Binh
The artist graduated from Hanoi Fine Art College and now works
there as a professor. For an artist so young, Binh has racked up an impressive
list of prizes , including the National Fine Arts 2000 Award and the Grand
Prize in the 2000 Fine Arts for Art Colleges contest. Binh is known for his
fresh takes on traditional motifs. Influenced by surrealism, he is inspired by
Vietnam's cultural diversity. One series of Binh's paintings focused on the
decorative details of ethnic minority people's clothing.
