SUNIL DAS

Sunil Das was born in 1939 in Calcutta. He studied at the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Calcutta. In 1960, he won a French Government Scholarship to the Ecole National des Beaux Arts. He has over fifty sdo shows and has participated in several exhlbmons In India and abroad. His work has been included in the Biennales of Paris, Dacca, Tokyo, He has served as commlssloner to the Sao Faaulo Biennale and was a member of the jury of the Pfix des Etrangeres, Parls. Sunll Das llves and works In Calcutta, Sunil Das began his academic career by painting horses and bulls, trying to capture their dynamism and restlessness. His current works still retain some of that energy and rhythm.
