Gustavo Ortiz

Gustavo is influenced by colonial art, as well as primitive indigenous aesthetics. Using collage as his primary medium, he combines the whimsical elements of na´ve art with the unexpected juxtaposition of surrealism, creating an atmosphere of surprise charm and simplicity. He expresses his art through the legends in Latin America. The use of vivid colors and defined shapes give his paintings a childlike quality. Gustavo was born in Argentina. He studied art at the University of Cuba and now lives in England. Gustavo has regularly exhibited, among other places, at the cultural center in Maraco, General Pico (Argentina) and Bourne Hall Epson (England).
