Anne-Catherine Casteres
The artist explains her ouvre, saying, "The main point is that
my work is figurative with free flirting with expressionism. The other
characteristic is a concern for color, which overrides the drawing. Do not look
for intellectualisation, it is instinct and intuition that control and hold the
brush! If we speak of a journey, I think of as far as my memory can go back, I
see myself trying to paint and draw ... " In the '70s, Anne- Catherine studied
art history at the Ecole du Louvre. In the process, she developed a passion for
Restoration of art works. In Biarritz she plunged into painting. Since she did
not follow any training for painting, She wants to remain completely
self-taught.
